Choosly Privacy Policy

Choosly helps you decide where to eat by finding restaurants near you and picking one at random. We built it to collect as little about you as possible. This policy explains what the app uses, why, and who it talks to.

The short version

• No account, no sign-up, no ads, no tracking.
• We don't run servers and we don't store your data.
• Your location is used only to find nearby restaurants, and your app preferences stay on your device.

What Choosly uses

• Location (while using the app). With your permission, Choosly uses your device location to find restaurants near you, show how far away they are, and display your approximate neighborhood. Your location is used in the moment and is not saved by us.
• App preferences. Your chosen accent color and theme are saved locally on your device (and never leave it).

Who Choosly shares with

Choosly has no backend of its own. To work, it sends requests to a few third parties:

• Google Places. Your location coordinates and search filters are sent to Google's Places API to retrieve nearby restaurants, ratings, and photos. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple. Used to translate your coordinates into a neighborhood name and to deliver the app. See Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Delivery & maps apps. When you tap to view or order a restaurant, Choosly opens Maps, DoorDash, Uber Eats, or Yelp. Once you leave Choosly, those apps' own privacy policies apply.

What Choosly does not do

• We don't collect your name, email, or contacts.
• We don't use analytics or advertising SDKs.
• We don't track you across apps or websites, and we never sell data.

Data retention

Because Choosly has no servers, there is nothing for us to retain. Preferences live on your device and are removed if you delete the app. You can revoke location access anytime in your device Settings.

Children

Choosly is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If this policy changes, we'll update the date above. Material changes will be reflected here.
